FINALS

I didn't mention it yet because it's kind of old news but WILDCATS ARE THE NATIONAL CHAMPS!!! Love my cats.

I'm so tired of class, but luckily today is the last day. I can't focus and it's freaking me out. I have so much homework to finish for 50 points. The final is all multiple choice luckily. The test I took yesterday was literally the worst test I've ever taken in my life. After it, I couldn't even remember the pin of my debit card (I still can't remember it)... Thinking of taking a nap when I'm home then going to Barnes and Noble to study like I normally do. SO MUCH STUDYING.

It will all be okay.
But, as Teddy Roosevelt said, "believe you can, and you're halfway there".

I don't agree with all of his political ideas, but I admire what a hard worker he was. He keeps me motivated. One of his quotes is even the background on my laptop.

Going to make Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers tonight. I've already had a cookie crumble mocha frap from Starbucks today. I also need to run before I take a nap.

Okay good plan, break!

I Am Titanium (Ti 22 e+)

Since I've been running, I've been gaining endurance but I don't want to venture further than my normal route because I don't want to get stranded with my asthma. I will need to find a new route probably starting today but I've been running twice a day on the same route (about 1.5 miles). It's better to do high intensity workouts for shorter periods of time than a low intensity workout for a longer period of time, but I can handle further. Maybe I'll just speed it up. I really don't know why I'm explaining all of this unless anyone has some advice for me.

General Chemistry 1 test, lab final, and final this week in a row. So I'm not only exercising my body but my mind too. I need to stay strong.

So I know it's summer and most people aren't crazy and taking classes early like I am, but this is for you readers to refer to when classes start or for hard workers who tend to eat on the job. I need something in my mouth when I'm learning. Maybe you've seen me chewing on my pen in class (I know, so gross) but I just can't help it! Mr. Gruber explained it once in Ethics. I can't re-explain it very well so if you really want to learn about it, here's an article: http://psychology.wikia.com/wiki/Oral_fixation

Sobe Life Water: I am really obsessed with Fuji Apple Pear Life Water. But, there are other flavors too. I don't like to drink things with a lot of chemicals in them. The Fuji Apple Pear for example is zero calories, but has a lot of sodium in it. So I drink them if I know I'm going to workout afterwards so some of the sodium will escape my system. But, it has some natural options too that are about 10 calories per serving or I know the Black Cherry Dragon fruit and Strawberry Apricot are zero calorie and natural. They all have good electrolytes or vitamins in them too to keep you energized while studying.

Tea and Fruit: On Instagram, I follow some British healthy eaters that share their recipes. They are always posting pictures of tea so I've been drinking it lately. I love drinking tea and eating fruit together. It gives you a surge of energy and it's natural energy. I don't like eating fruit plain for some reason. I just don't like how cold it is. But with the tea, it's really delicious for some reason. Don't ask me why because I couldn't explain. My favorite is Organic Lemon Echinacea Throat Coat with a little bit of Truvia sweetener in it and an orange.

Spearmint Gum: I love Ice Breakers Ice Cubes. It gives off a cold sensation. It's been proven that chewing spearmint gum while studying helps you remember what you're learning.

Pirate's Booty: 130 calories per serving and available everywhere (even Walgreens)! It tastes like White Cheddar Cheetos and is Gluten and Trans Fat Free. I would really recommend rationing it out into servings though once you get it. It's very easy to over-eat Pirate's Booty.

Went to the College World Series game last night to check out Arizona's competition. Looks like they're playing the Gamecocks. Good luck AZ, bear down!

My Wildcats and Recipes

3-0 Wildcats made it to the championship tonight!!!

My goal is to make it to the championship game. Never been to a CWS game, this one would be the one to go to.

Healthy eating update:

Wanted to share some of my recipes with you readers so if you're trying to make your calorie goal, you aren't unhealthily starving yourself. I've been Gluten free for a couple of weeks so these recipes are gluten free.

Feta and Spinach Turkey Burgers: makes 4 servings, 160 calories per serving

1 lb ground turkey breast
4 oz reduced fat feta cheese
fresh spinach (as much as you like)
1 tablespoon Egg Beaters egg whites

Mix together in bowl, split into fourths, put it on the grill and done!

Ranch Turkey Burgers: makes 4 servings, 128 calories per serving

1 lb ground turkey breast
1 packet of ranch dressing seasoning
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Egg Beaters egg whites

Again just mix together in a bowl, split into fourths, put on the grill and done. I like to put a slice of cheddar cheese (45 calorie thin slices from Sargento melt really well) on each patty and melt it on top of the burger.

Low Cal Raspberry Smoothie: makes 2 servings, 105 calories per serving

1/2 cup Raspberry Ciao Bella Greek Frozen Yogurt (available at Target)
1 cup frozen raspberries
3/4 cup fuji apple pear Sobe Life Water

I also grill veggies and lightly seasoned chicken breast on my pink George Foreman. I love that little Barbie grill.

What I've found makes working out much more rewarding is my new post-workout ritual I thought I'd share. I make a cup of Organic Lemon Echinacea Throat Coat tea, cut up half an orange, and take a bath and eat, drink, and relax. It is ridiculously refreshing and doesn't undo any of your hard work.

When Life is Kicking Your Butt

Between school and work, this summer has been extremely demanding of my brain. And it wants to be on summer mode so badly. But I can't. I have ALEKS due today and tests to study for.. etc. Got 3 hours of sleep last night (not by choice) and I still have so much work to do.

On the brighter side of things, ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT! :) Hopefully I can see my Wildcats play Thursday night at the CWS. And I have my trips ahead of me too. I love Salt Lake City and Arizona so much. Really excited to hike and shop. What a great combo. And I've never been to Montana but I've heard we're going white water rafting and hiking, so that should be exciting. Hopefully I can lay by the pool while my mom is in meetings too.

Positivity is always good right?

I'm not always one for Chuck Norris jokes, but maybe my lack of sleep made this more funny to me than normal.

Why I Love Teddy Roosevelt

He always knows just the right thing to say for my lazy spirit.

"It is only through work and strife that either nation or individual moves on to greatness. The great man is always the man of mighty effort, and usually the man whom grinding need has trained to mighty effort."- Theodore Roosevelt

Work hard and you will receive.

Short and sweet today. Cats won last night!

Xx
